COMPELLED TO COME

"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD.  "Though your sins are like scarlet,  they shall be as white as snow;  though they are red as crimson,  they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.   Isaiah 1:18-20  (NIV)

WOW!!  What a night!  I was filled with the Hope and the Promise of our Mighty Awesome God last night.  It's almost as if they were waiting for us.  Expecting us.  As we drove slowly they came to us.  Searching our faces.... looking for something.  AMAZING!  Thank you Jesus for preparing the streets and going ahead of us to prepare the hearts of those we'd meet.    This was the first time I have been in the start of this ministry.  I came into 70x7 when it was already active in the Brightmoor area.  Now, in a new area of the city, what a treat and to sit at the window last night as we started to approach the girls and introduce them to LOVE.    With our van loaded - Donna (our ministry director at the wheel), Becky (our buddy that launched 70x7 with Donna years ago) bagging up lunches and hygene kits, and Cindy at the back window - we headed toward the streets.   The first girl we met was "Melanie".  Terribly thin and anxiously awaiting a "ride", she gladly took our gift, but declined prayer until "next Tues".  Made us smile.  She took the lunch and hygene kit.  She knows why we are out there.  She said she'd look for us next week.  It's a beginning.   And then there was "Tammy".  We knew before we approached that she was different.  Dressed more like a businesswoman than a working girl, she appoached the van expectantly.  She had been off the streets for 5 years, working in a professional field, and found herself back on the streets.  She knew she had made the wrong choice.  More than that... she knows Christ.  She said, "I feel like Jonah!"  And we reminded her what happened after the fish vomited Jonah onto dry land.  Jonah 3:1-10  Pam accepted our gift and prayer.  Specifically she asked for wisdom and strength to make better choices.  We told her we would be out every Tues night and she said, "I will tell all the girls!"  This woman is going to be a powerful influence to the other girls out there.  And, once brought back to the body of Christ, she will be an awesome testimony to the grace and fullfillment of Christ.  I felt it all over her.  I think she knows it too.

We're in a large Muslim area and we past several Mosques.  We prayed for the men on the street outside the Mosques and for the Muslim's in that area.    But I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt.  You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me.   Hosea 13:4 (reference Hosea 13:2-4)   Then we met "Tonya".  She took our gift, but did not want prayer.  She claimed she was Muslim.  She was no more Muslim than the man in the moon.  But she was afraid.  Convicted by the Holy Spirit and we knew it.  No Muslim girl would claim that religion on the street or she would be killed.  Horribly.  So I yelled out, "God Bless You" as she fled from us and she responded quickly, "God Bless you too!".  We'll see her again.  I'm counting on it.

Lastly was "Angel".  She accepted our  gift and our prayer  and we told her we'd be out again next Tues.    What a night!!  I was "high" all the way home... thanking God for His protection, His wisdom, His redeeming power, and His call on my life!  Word will fly on the street that we're out there.    Please pray for us.  We're out there every Tues night.  (and Thurs on the East side.)  And  please keep these girls in prayer.  God is on the move and amazing incredible things are going to happen.   God Bless you! With much love, Lauren   I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5
