AUTHORITY

Oh how I wish I had been with my sisters in the van this week!  What a
glorious God we serve!  I'm so excited.... so absolutely AMPED up that the
Holy Spirit has moved us to start speaking to the girls out on the West
side.  How exciting that the authorities and local ministers are opening
their hearts to us, to our outreach, and to God's plan for their
neighborhood.  And PRAISE GOD that the girls are excited to see us there!
WOW!!  This is going to be an awesome ride!  Read on to see what Donna has
to say about this week.

P.S.  The Gray Haired lady she mentions asked her to pray for more hair.
You'll get it as you read on.

> [ Pray for Open Doors ] Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide
> open in gratitude. Don't forget to pray for us, that God will open doors
for
> telling the mystery of Christ, even while I'm locked up in this jail. Pray
> that every time I open my mouth I'll be able to make Christ plain as day
to
> them. Col. 4:2 (MSG)
>
> We may not have been locked up in jail but we did spend our afternoon in
> Drug Court and at the Police station.  No, we weren’t in trouble either.
We
> visited both places in order to introduce the Ministry, to ask for
guidance
> and protection so that while we are talking to the women on the streets
the
> people in authority will know what we are trying to accomplish.  As we
> embark into a new area of the city I’m filled with gratitude that the Lord
> lead us to introduce ourselves to those that we may at some point need to
> call on for assistance.  We left the police station with joy, laughter and
a
> little bit of amazement in our hearts because the officer on duty kept
> calling us ‘Saints’.  With our obligation to inform the authorities
> concluded we were now free to start talking to the women in the Western
> District of Detroit.  We have praying over this new neighborhood for quite
a
> few months now and to know that we had the Lord’s blessing to begin
talking
> to the women was such a delight.  The first woman we met was a little
> apprehensive at first but then opened up and said she couldn’t wait to
tell
> other women about us.  Well, we didn’t have to wait long for that to
happen.
>   We continued down the street talking to others then headed back down the
> other side of the street to find our first lady jumping up and down and
> waving to us.  She had another lady with her and wanted us to pray for her
> as she is going through treatments for pancreatic cancer.  This lady was
so
> emaciated but had the biggest smile on her face.  She said she couldn’t
wait
> to see us again next Tuesday, and that she was very humbled to know God
met
> her on the street in her hour of need.
>
> Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find. Matt.
> 22:9 (NIV)
>
> You just have to love the cursing gray haired lady.  When we walked the
> streets in Mt. Clemens yesterday we walked past her home, said hello to
> Lucifer the dog, and listened to him bark up a storm, but the gray-haired
> lady wasn’t around.  We continued walking and greeting other people in the
> neighborhood and when we were heading back to the car, lo and behold who
was
> standing in the middle of the street but our gray-haired friend.  As soon
as
> she saw us she turned around and walked away.  What a fussbudget she is.
> When we caught up to her she pretended she didn’t know we were there.
After
> we said hello to her about 4 or 5 times, she finally turned around and
said,
> “Well! Where have you been?”  I think this lady is going to be a challenge
> and we love challenges, because we are going to love her into the family
of
> Christ, and hopefully get her some more hair.
>
> Have a blessed week

>
> P.S. I have a special prayer request.  While praying for this new
> neighborhood in Detroit we stumbled (nothing happens accidentally with
God)
> upon a neighborhood with a large Muslim population and a lot of street
> prostitution.  This was a very spiritually dark neighborhood so we are
> asking for prayer covering and discernment in how to approach this area.
> The team is in agreement that we need to prepare ourselves for outreach in
> this neighborhood but we must proceed with great caution.  Your prayers
> would be greatly appreciated.
