It's Just Beginning To Reign!

We ventured out tonight in the pouring rain.  Four of us in the van.  Ready for God to show up and that He did!

When we stopped to talk to "R" we found him very receptive... even in the rain.  This really surprises me every time.  Why on earth would people stop to talk to us?  Why would they approach a van full of strangers pulling over to the side of the road in the middle of hell?  I wouldn't do it.  But time after time after time, they do.  They are drawn in by the spirit of God, the witness of their own spirits that tell them.... Something is special here. "R", as it turns out is a Drug Counselor in a Methadone clinic and himself a recovered addict.  Happy to meet us, accept prayer, and Donna's calling card, "R" assured  us that he will be in touch as he meets many women in need of our "services" on the street.  That's just cool!  Holy connections.

"H" was standing outside the liquor store and he was so happy to see us again.  He broke from his friend and asked us for prayer.  So many blessings have come from the liquor store parking lots in these neighborhoods.  Men that have poured their hearts out to God.  We pray this one is no different.  What a incredible sight to see people coming out of the door witnessing their friend "H" praying with the girls in the van.  You could see the questions racing through their minds.  You could almost hear the seeds being planted as we drove off yelling, "We love you!"  Donna said, "We're offering a much better Spirit than that store ever could", and I just laughed in agreement.

"L" was not far from there.  Standing against the building with her bottle in her pocket.  She didn't want to accept prayer because, "I'm drinking right now", she said.  She asked if we would keep her in prayer though (that she needed it), and we told her that we would.  She kept saying that is was a "great thing"  that we were doing out there... and she walked away.  She has no idea that God is willing to meet her where she is right now - bottle in hand - and save her from herself.  We swung around later just to let her know that we did pray - that we meant it when we said we would - and that she could look for us on Tues nights.

It was so dark tonight.  The rain beating down and little happening on the streets.  It was a great night for sharing in the van as we continued our drive.  As we shared stories and testimonies of how God is moving in our lives, we encouraged one another and were so glad in it.  This family of women mean so very much to me.  The ones in the van and the ones on the street.  We all agreed, It's just beginning to reign! God is doing amazing things in each of our lives.  He's answering prayer - ON TIME! - during really dry periods.... just RAINING down on us.  This ministry needs financial help to keep going.  A business that needs help to keep running.  Finances that are running out as doubt starts sneaking in.  Health issues that have crept up and are scary.  In the midst of all of this............HE REIGNS!  Answering ON TIME and in HUGE WAYS that have been overwhelming and undeniably Him.  We drove through the dark, drenched streets tonight in AWE of Him.

Watch this: God's eye is on those who respect him,  the ones who are looking for his love. He's ready to come to their rescue in bad times; in lean times he keeps body and soul together. We're depending on God; he's everything we need.  What's more, our hearts brim with joy since we've taken for our own his holy name. Love us, God, with all you've got— that's what we're depending on.

Psalm 33:19-21 (The Message)

Thank you for all your loving support.  70x7 is an outreach that is not possible without your financial and prayerful support.  We believe that God has annointed this ministry and has sent us out on a mission.... to love the women on the streets of Detroit with all our hearts... straight to the cross.

God bless you, your family, and all your friends.

Love,

Lauren
