A New Thing

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

We are doing a new thing, or maybe I should say the same thing in a new area.  Yes, the Lord has been busy again, molding, shaping, growing and stretching us.  We are now doing Outreach on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, in 2 different areas of the city.  I have felt the Lord urging me to expand the outreach since 2005.  So for the last few years we have been cruising and praying in different locations of the tri-county area.  As much as we wanted to move into areas like Pontiac and Mt. Clemens we kept feeling the call back into another area of Detroit.  I am so grateful for the team the Lord has put together as they have faithfully joined me in prayer for the direction the Lord would have us to take.

We started the Thursday outreach last week and we were so blessed by the people we met.  People that were very apprehensive about approaching the van, people that were so excited when we told them we had lunch bags and wanted to pray with them, people that Christ is calling into relationship with him.

Abide Ministries/70x7 Outreach has been reaching out to the lost and hurting for 7 years now and each night that we go out has been such a blessing.  It’s truly humbling to know that no matter who you are, what you’ve done, how rich or how poor, that the Lord is calling each and every one of us to be His hands and feet.  If you’ve lost a loved one you have the heart to reach out to those that are grieving, if you’ve loved a grandparent you can love on the elderly that are lonely and in need of friendship, if you’ve been abused reach out to those that are in abusive relationships.  Maybe you are called to be a prayer-warrior, we love prayer-warriors they are our covering when ministering to others.  Christ laid down His life for ALL of us and it’s such a joy to share that message with others.  There is nothing in the world more exciting than to have someone tentatively place their hand in yours and allow you to pray for them, knowing that it is not you that will make a difference in their lives but the one who hung on a cross for us, Jesus Christ.

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. John 16:13a

Have a blessed week,

Donna

P.S. thanks for letting me share with you what the Lord is doing, next week we’ll get back to our regular updates.
