A GLIMPSE OF GLORY

There are so many sex clubs in the neighborhood we cruise.  Male strip clubs, gay clubs.  It was really disturbing to see women lined up around the block waiting to get into Henry's Palace.   Right down the street are homes with families that live in the midst of all this crud.  Women that don't know God's plan, the purpose for their lives, or the joy and beauty of sex in the spirit... the way God planned in marriage.  My heart just cried for them.

It's dirty out there.  Boarded up homes.  Trash.  Filth.   So many girls.

I started thinking out loud.... and I said, "I wish God would give them a glimpse of hell so they would know how horrible it is."  Then I realized what I had said.  That's all most of them know.  Hell.  They get a bird's eye view of hell every day.  "No", I said, "I wish God would give them a glimpse of glory so that they would know what they are missing!"  And  it hit me.  That's why we're out there.  We are God's hands and His feet.  We pray that God uses us, fills our mouths with His words, and fills our eyes with his face, so that when we get the opportunity to talk to these girls, they WILL GET A GLIMPSE OF GLORY!   They will see Jesus.

We past a motorcycle club and Cindy (remember I told you about her in my last email) announced, "I used to be in a motorcycle gang called 'Satan's Slaves'!  Aren't you glad I belong to Jesus now?"  YES, Cindy!!  I'm so glad.  Imagine.  Talk about a Glimpse of Glory.  Cindy is just starting her life - turning 61 on Sunday.  She has survived 40 years of prostitution, herion addiction, and was even in Charles Manson's "family".  She rode as one of "Satan's Slaves" and now she belongs to Jesus.  She said, "Do you know what consecrated means?"  And though I've heard that word, I didn't know the definition.  "Once  we were saved, we were set apart, sanctified, made holy.  We are new creatures in Christ!"  She beamed as she said it and she is truly a glimpse of God's glory.  AMEN sister!  Thank you Jesus that I am a new creature.  That I am set apart.... and that I do not belong to the ruler of this world anymore.
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
Eph. 2:1-5
It blows my mind that God does a work in all of us all the time and He doesn't stop.  Am I participating in outreach or am I being reached?  Every time I go out on the streets, I learn something new about the Glory and magnificance of God.

Thank  you for your prayers.  Please keep the team and the street in prayer.
God Bless!
Love,
Lauren
