Youth
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Tim. 2:22
There they are again, gathered together on the lawn, sitting in chairs, lounging against someone’s car, standing like sentinels guarding their turf. They flock to the van seeking lunch bags and hygiene items and our hearts cry out for them. What do they see when we pull up? Do they see Christ in us or just a friendly face passing out a lunch bag? I pray we will never grow weary in reaching out to this large group of youth. We also give thanks that they always welcome us. It’s humbling to know the Lord placed these young people in our path and we pray we may continue to meet with them, pray with them and to speak more boldly about the love Christ has for them. The whole team rejoices in the miracle standing before us, tall, handsome young males, pretty young females, holding hands in prayer, telling each other to bow their heads, and ignoring their ringing cell phones. I pray our gatherings are beautiful in the Lord’s sight, as we stand together, all 12 to 15 of us, hold hands, and pray. None of these young people attend church and we may be the only witness to the Gospel they will meet in their young lives. Please pray we stand strong in our witness to them, that the Lord will give them ears to hear so that they may be filled with the joy that comes from knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.
Psalms 25:7
Have a blessed week,
