Answer Me When I Call to You
It was an answer to prayer. For all of us!
Ndumi Mafu was a special guest in our van tonight. He works for Kensington in the video department, is an awesome man of God, and mentors my son. What an honor and a treat to share our ministry with him. I was excited for him to see what God is doing and how He is leading us on the street. I excitedly anticipated the evening (knowing Ndumi would accompany us), but again, our God never ceases to surprise me. What a night!
Our first stop - was to meet "K". We pulled up and Cindy & Donna introduced our ministry to this new young girl and asked her if she'd like a sandwich, juice, and hygeine ... (more)

OUR FATHER
I remember the first time I ever heard a perfect prayer. I had been hired by my old boss and dear friend, Dr. Bill Moskal, to raise funds for Hospice and memorialized his wife Diane. Bill's sister had Downs Syndrome and was in a wheelchair. She had wanted to say the prayer before we started on our walk that beautiful day. The microphone was placed near her mouth and she said loudly, "OUR FATHER.........AMEN!" I'll never forget it. It was absolutely perfect.Tuesday, we headed back to the streets with the hope Our Father has placed in our hearts. We headed to the Brightmoor area and down toward familiar terriority. As soon as we saw the neighborhood liquor store, we thought we saw an old friend in the parking lot. We pulled up to the curb. Our eyes had tricked us and it wasn't who we thought it was... but it was who God intended us to meet that night. ... (more)

I'M NOT GONNA LIE
Tuesday was another AMAZING night for 70x7... and we had a special guest in the van. Pastor Kevin Butcher from Hope Community Church. It's the first time we've had a Pastor along for the ride. What a blessing and a treat to share this ministry with him. After brief introductions and prayer, we set off to see what God had in mind for this particular Tues night. What a great and glorious God we serve that never lets us down.We met many new girls this week. It's so heartbreaking to see them...... lost on the street..... searching for Hope... and many not knowing He has a name!
"Tina" said her son was murdered last month and wanted prayer for a mother's grief. Both Tina and her friend wanted prayer to get off the streets. She tried to hid her drug paraphernalia when I went to hug her goodbye and she said, "I"m not going to lie, I carry my stuff with ... (more)

COMPELLED TO COME
WOW!! What a night! I was filled with the Hope and the Promise of our Mighty Awesome God last night. It's almost as if they were waiting for us. Expecting us. As we drove slowly they came to us. Searching our faces.... looking for something. AMAZING! Thank you Jesus for preparing the streets and going ahead of us to prepare the hearts of those we'd meet. This was the first time I have been in the start of this ministry. ... (more)

AUTHORITY
Oh how I wish I had been with my sisters in the van this week! What aglorious God we serve! I'm so excited.... so absolutely AMPED up that the
Holy Spirit has moved us to start speaking to the girls out on the West
side. How exciting that the authorities and local ministers are opening
their hearts to us, to our outreach, and to God's plan for their
neighborhood. And PRAISE GOD that the girls are excited to see us there!
WOW!! This is going to be an awesome ride! Read on to see what Donna has
to say about this week.
P.S. The Gray Haired lady she mentions asked her to pray for more hair.
You'll get it as you read on.

A GLIMPSE OF GLORY
There are so many sex clubs in the neighborhood we cruise. Male strip clubs, gay clubs. It was really disturbing to see women lined up around the block waiting to get into Henry's Palace. Right down the street are homes with families that live in the midst of all this crud. Women that don't know God's plan, the purpose for their lives, or the joy and beauty of sex in the spirit... the way God planned in marriage. My heart just cried for them.
It's dirty out there. Boarded up homes. Trash. Filth. So many girls.
I started thinking out loud.... and I said, "I wish God would give them a glimpse of hell so they would know how horrible it is." Then I realized what I had said. That's all most of them know. Hell. They get a bird's eye view of hell every day. ... (more)

BADGE OF HONOR
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Romans 8:15-17 NIV
Yesterday, Satan was doing his job on me and (saddly I admit) I let him. I'm not sure what it was. Lack of sleep. Weakness of spirit. Do you ever find yourself in a "feel sorry for me" spot and Satan just sneaks in and does his dirty work on you?
He was speaking fear into me yesterday. Which is weird for me.... because I don't have a spirit of ... (more)

BACK ON THE STREET
Dear Friends: You are on this list because I thought you might:
- Pray for us and for the people that God wants to reach in the streets
- Be interested
- Contribute to our cause if/when needed
- Pass this on to someone you know might need to read it.
This is a blurb from my website - www.lorlas.com/page9.html
This is a outreach that I've been involved with (under the leadership of Donna McCauley) for several years now. The outreach, under the official umbrella of "Abide Ministries", is primarily for addicts and prostitutes on the streets in Detroit. We offer lunch, hygeine products, hope and prayer to the people that we meet. ... (more)
